Privacy Policy
1. Who this applies to
This Privacy Policy describes how 805 Software ("805 Software", "we", "us") handles information collected through 805software.com ("the Site"), and when you contact us for engineering or consulting services.
This policy does not cover separately operated 805 Software products with their own privacy policies (for example, our standalone apps), or applications we build for clients — those are governed by each client's own privacy policy.
2. Information we collect

- Email content, attachments, and contact details when you write to
hello@805software.com. - Information you provide during a discovery call or in a written brief (project description, budget, timeline).
- Invoicing information (legal name, billing address, tax ID) if we enter into an engagement.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Standard server log data: IP address, user agent, referrer, requested URL, timestamp.
- Aggregate analytics: page views, country/region, device class — without third-party advertising trackers.
2.3 Information we do not collect
- We do not run advertising or third-party advertising trackers on this Site.
- We do not buy or sell email lists or contact data.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
3. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Reply to your inquiries and discuss potential engagements.
- Deliver, support, and document work under a signed agreement.
- Send invoices and required tax / accounting records.
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site.
- Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or security incidents.
- Comply with applicable law.
5. Data retention
- Email correspondence: retained for as long as needed to maintain the relationship, plus the period required by tax and contract law.
- Engagement records and invoices: retained for at least seven (7) years as required by U.S. and California recordkeeping rules.
- Site analytics: retained in aggregated form per our analytics provider's defaults.
- Server logs: retained for up to 90 days for operational and security purposes.
6. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures — encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest where supported by our vendors, least-privilege access controls, and reasonable operational practices. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights (California)
7.1 California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
You have the right to: know what personal information we have collected; request a copy; request deletion; request correction; and opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" (we do neither). You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
7.2 How to exercise your rights
Email hello@805software.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will verify your request and respond within the time period required by applicable law.
8. Children's privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Mobile apps we build
When we build mobile apps for clients or for ourselves, each app ships with its own privacy policy and App Store / Play Store privacy disclosure. This policy does not govern those apps — please refer to the in-app privacy policy linked from the app's listing.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be announced on the Site for at least 30 days.
